Discussion: Apply Knowledge
Thinking about the ‘Planning for the Dissemination of Research Findings’ assignment completed in Week 6, consider the process of how you would disseminate the findings in the discussion using the steps below:
Step 1: Please go to this resource and review the information on how to disseminate evidenceLinks to an external site..
Step 2: Answer the discussion prompts below with explanation and detail.
Paragraph 1: Identify your stakeholders via the Stakeholder Analysis section in the AHRQ link above and how they may be impacted by the outcomes of your findings.
Paragraph 2: Discuss the Purpose, the Audience, the Methods, the Timing, and the Evaluation of your dissemination process when presenting findings within your organization using the AHRQ link information.
Paragraph 3: Explain the next steps you might consider after the initial dissemination session. (For example: What steps would you need to follow for information to disseminate findings at a professional nursing conference or in a professional journal article?)
SOLUTION
Hello class and professor
Stakeholders are essential to the successful dissemination of research findings, as they influence and are impacted by the outcomes. According to the Stakeholder Analysis section of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), stakeholders can include healthcare providers, administrators, policymakers, patients, and professional organizations. For my research findings focused on improving mental health access in underserved communities key stakeholders would include mental health professionals, community health centers, hospital administrators, and policymakers at the local and state levels. Mental health professionals would be directly affected by the findings as they could influence how care is delivered in these underserved areas. Community health centers and hospitals may need to allocate additional resources or adjust staffing based on the evidence provided. Policymakers, especially those involved in public health funding and legislation, would be impacted by the potential need to advocate for changes in policy, particularly regarding mental health funding or insurance coverage. Lastly, patients in these communities would experience the most direct impact, as the implementation of evidence-based strategies could improve their access to and quality of mental health care (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, 2014).
