SOLUTION
Paragraph One: PICOT Question and Study Overview
PICOT Question: In adults aged 60 and above with diabetes (P), does the use of lifestyle modifications combined with drug therapy as the primary treatment (I) compared to drug therapy (C) reduce the HbA1c levels by 10% (O) within a 4-month time period (T)?
The qualitative study I chose examines the lived experiences of older adults managing diabetes through lifestyle modifications alongside pharmacotherapy. This study is qualitative in nature, as it uses in-depth interviews to explore personal experiences, attitudes, and perceptions. The study follows a phenomenological approach, focusing on understanding the essence of these experiences. The purpose of this study is to investigate how older adults perceive and integrate lifestyle changes like diet, exercise, and stress management in together with diabetes medication. The goal is to provide insights into barriers and facilitators in adhering to this combination therapy (Pasquel et al., 2021).
