SOLUTION
One of the primary goals mentioned in Healthy People 2020 is to minimize the prevalence of obesity among children and adolescents aged 2 to 19. This aim emphasizes the need to promote good eating habits, encourage regular physical exercise, and implement weight management strategies to prevent and reduce the effects of obesity in this vulnerable population. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2022), juvenile obesity continues to be a major public health concern in the United States, affecting roughly 19.3% of children and adolescents. The high incidence of obesity among young people is concerning, given its relationship with a variety of long-term health consequences, including but not limited to type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and certain cancers (CDC, 2022). Addressing juvenile obesity is critical not just for improving the immediate health outcomes of those afflicted but also for lowering the future burden of chronic diseases and healthcare expenses.
